CIRCULAR MANUFACTURING: BRINGING TOGETHER MATERIALS, PROCESSES, PRODUCTS AND INFORMATION
In a circular economy, products are not simply discarded once they’ve served their purpose. Instead, they are reintegrated into the economic cycle through a variety of means (maintenance, reuse, refurbishment, remanufacture, and recycling). Consumers are increasingly seeking products that are manufactured using more sustainable methods. Industries are responding by seeking ways to enhance the efficient utilization of resources. This comes in the form of products made from recovered materials, less packaging, and design and manufacturing practices optimized to reduce energy use and waste.
This circular manufacturing concept is prompting manufacturers to reevaluate their approaches to designing, manufacturing, and distributing products, shifting away from the traditional linear economy model of «take, make, waste» towards a more regenerative approach.
An overall life cycle approach (materials production, products manufacturing, utilization, end of use/life) is therefore needed along with corresponding data spaces for sharing/transmitting information and knowledge along the value chain.
New materials marketplaces, the compliance with regulations (Green Deal, Net-Zero Act objectives) and development of required skills (also within our manufacturing SMEs community) would round out this Circular Manufacturing approach.

SPEEDING UP THE MANUFACTURING INNOVATION CYCLE: SUCCESS STORIES & CHALLENGES
Innovation, leadership and growth go hand in hand. At the same time, there is a huge need for innovations to reach the market, in order to realise green transition in manufacturing. To boost manufacturing innovation, we need pick out ambitious initiatives and successful practices as well as identify challenges. Supporting industrial strategies on different levels (EU, national, regional), enhancing collaboration of different initiatives and a continuous learning approach are key elements of success.

SOCIAL DINNER
MUKA, “ashes from the fire” in the Iparralde dialect of Basque language, is an invitation to explore fire in all its forms: ember, flame, hot coals, smoke, ash…
An experience that makes it possible to experience fire using all the senses, from the gastronomic proposal to the space itself, which has an enormous charcoal grill used to prepare most of the dishes on the menu. The dishes, designed for sharing, can also be enjoyed outside, on a spectacular terrace overlooking the mouth of the Urumea River.
