Bianca Maria Colosimo
Bianca Maria Colosimo is Full Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano, the first Engineering school in Italy, ranked among the top 20 universities worldwide in Engineering and Technology (QS world Ranking- 2023).
She received her MSc and PhD in Industrial Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. After her PhD, she spent a visiting period as PostPhD at the Pennsylvania State University (PSU).
Her main research interest is in the area of big data mining, modeling and monitoring for advanced manufacturing processes (additive manufacturing and bioprinting, among all) to foster the twin (digital and green) transition. On these topics, she is author of 150+ peer-reviewed contributions, most of them published in peer-reviewed international journals and books.
She is Member of the Implementation Support Group of the Manufuture-EU, Member of the Steering Committee of the EU Vanguard initiative on 3D printing, Member of the ESA topical team on 3D Bioprinting, Member of the Board of Directors EIT manufacturing – CLC south, CDA Member of MADE, one of the Italian Digital Innovation Hub on Industry 4.0 and Member of the Steering Committee of the World Manufacturing Forum (WMF).
Since 2020, she is Senior Editor of the Informs Journal of Data Science, Department Editor of IISE Transactions, Associate Editor of Progress in Additive Manufacturing and Additive Manufacturing Letters. She is member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Quality Technology, where she served as Editor-in-Chief from 2019 to 2021.
She is co-leading the research laboratory AddMe Lab (link) and the 3D Cell lab, two leading labs on Additive Manufacturing and 3D bioprinting.

Benoît Marget
Benoit Marguet works at Airbus Corporate Strategy since 2018 where he manages various business and industrial strategic projects. Before joining the strategy department, he held various positions at Airbus over the last 25 years where he was involved in Manufacturing Engineering, innovation and research projects. Benoit holds a PhD in mechanical design.

Javier Arenas
Javier Arenas finished his Industrial Engineering degree in 2005 and later studied the Master’s Degree in Automation, Control Engineering and Robotics at the Faculty of Engineering in Bilbao. Starting his research career at the IKERLAN technology center, in 2011 he joined Fagor Automation to be part of the R&D department within the CNC business. After several years in the innovation team, in 2022 he takes over the management of the technology center of Fagor Automation.

Anita Przyklenk
Head of working group “Gears and Theads”, Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Germany.
Anita Przyklenk is the Secretary of EURAMET’s European Metrology Network for Advanced Manufacturing since 2021. She received her PhD in Physics from the TU Braunschweig, Germany just after she joined PTB in 2018.

George Chryssolouris
George Chryssolouris is Professor (1993-) and was the Chairman between 2003 and 2007 of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics / Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation (LMS) / University of Patras, Greece. He is the Founding Director of LMS (1993) coordinating its R&I activities focused on cutting edge scientific and technological fields. LMS is involved in a number of research projects funded by the CEU and European industrial partners. Particular emphasis is given to the co-operation with the European industry as well as with a number of “hi-tech” firms.
José Ignacio Hormaeche
Basque Energy Cluster, General Manager
Jose I. Hormaeche is the General Manager of the Basque Energy Cluster (Asociación Cluster de Energía , ACE) since March 2013. ACE is a non-profit private organization set up in 1996, with the mission of improving competitiveness of the Basque industrial fabric in the energy sector through collaboration in different fields: Technology, International promotion, Talent and Innovation. ACE includes more than 200 member companies in the energy supply chain: energy operators, component and equipment manufacturers, service companies, research entities and public administration.
From 2006 to 2013 Mr. Hormaeche was Managing Director of the Basque Energy Agency (EVE), a public entity belonging and reporting to the Department of Industry and Innovation of the Basque Government, whose mission is to define the energy strategies and develop programs and actions to achieve its objectives.

Timm Kuhlmann
Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA; Head of department “Industry Energy Systems”
Timm Kuhlmann leads the department of industry energy systems at Fraunhofer IPA since 2023 where he manages the research and the strategic development of 4 research groups: Smart grid and energy storage, thermal energy systems and hydrogen usage, energy system design, energy management services. He himself has spent years researching the development of DC networks for supply within the factory. Timm Kuhlmann holds a PhD in industrial engineering.

Xavier Baillard
Director of Innovation, EIT Manufacturing.
Xavier Baillard is a graduate from Ecole Polytechnique (2004) in Paris, and holds a PhD in Quantum Physics (Université Pierre et Marie Curie, 2008). He started his career as a patent examiner at the European Patent Office, before joining the French Embassy in China for 4 years as Innovation Attaché, where he was responsible of cooperation programmes between the two country. He then spent 6 years in Valeo, a French automotive parts supplier, as Open Innovation Director in the HQ and then as Innovation Director of the largest of the 4 business groups of the company. He has joined EIT Manufacturing in February 2022 as Innovation Director, and is now responsible for the innovation funding strategy, as well as the development of new programmes and services for the benefit of the European Manufacturing Community.

Antoni Pijoan
Managing Director EIT Manufacturing West
Bachelor’s Degree in physics science at the University of Barcelona (1994) and Industrial Engineer at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia/University of Aberdeen (1998). MBA (2008). After more than 20 years of international career developed in Spain, France, UK, Germany and USA working in consultancy and project management, Antoni joined EIT Manufacturing in 2019 as Interim Director of Business Creation and finally Managing Director of CLC West. Previously he worked at Tecnalia and its LTP Tecnalia Ventures promoting, selecting (conducting due diligences) and mentoring new tech-based Business Opportunities, and leading technology transfer projects. He had participated in different governing bodies such as Nobatek (RTO in Southern France), EIT InnoEnergy and EIT Health.
Philippe Vollet
Schneider Electric – Director of Standardization – Energy Management Business
Philippe has been involved in standardization since 2013, mainly in the fields of energy efficiency and smart buildings.
He plays an active role in several IEC committees, including as Secretary of IEC SC23K and Chairman of the IEC Advisory Committee on Energy Efficiency.
He is also Convenor of the CAPIEL and CECAPI European Manufacturers Association project group on the impact of digitalization for buildings.

Maurizio Gattiglio

Maurizio Gattiglio is Senior Partner and co-founder of ARCA Partners an Advisory Company specialised in manufacturing related activities.
He is also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of EIT Manufacturing and Chairman of MANUFUTURE European Technology Platform.
He has occupied in Europe, North America and China various executive positions in leading Industrial Companies operating in the field of industrial lasers, sheet metal machinery and electronics.
Maurizio Gattiglio has also been Board Director for many Companies and Associations, among them the European Factories of the Future Research Association (EFFRA) and the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC).
He holds a number of patents of invention in the area of laser technology.
Maurizio obtained a degree in mechanical engineering in 1984 from the Polytechnic of Turin.
José Carlos Caldeira

José Carlos Caldeira is member of the Board of INESC TEC and also member of the Board of PRODUTECH – Production Technologies Cluster. He is member of the MANUFUTURE High Level Group and Chairman of its Implementation Support Group. He is also member of the Board of EFFRA – European Factories of the Future Research Association. He is invited associated professor at Porto Faculty of Economics, on Innovation Policies. Between October 2014 and January 2018, he was the President of ANI – Agência Nacional de Inovação – the Portuguese National Innovation Agency.
Rikardo Bueno
Managing Director of BRTA.
Rikardo Bueno holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering and is the General Director of the Basque Research & Technology Alliance (BRTA), an alliance of 17 technology centers and cooperative research centers.
Before heading BRTA, he worked at TECNALIA, in positions covering responsibilities in both manufacturing research, with the main objective of transferring new technologies to the industrial fabric, and in internationalization, with the aim of cooperating with leading European organizations in the development of technological assets.
Rikardo is also involved in European activities and initiatives on manufacturing innovation. He is a member of Manufuture, has been co-chair of the industrial advisory group (AIAG) of the public-private partnership (PPP) Factories of the Future and has been one of the promoters of EIT Manufacturing and its node in Euskadi. The idea behind participation in these initiatives has always been to «widen the field» of R&D in manufacturing, so that European industry can be more innovative and, therefore, globally competitive.
Giuseppe Saragò
A passionate technology & transformational leader with significant experience in design & manufacturing domain with focus on 4 stroke engine, both for energy and industrial businesses.
Currently heading global Manufacturing Engineering & Innovation at the Wartsila Sustainable Technology Hub; initiator of Wartsila Smart Manufacturing Ecosystem Vision and “OSME (open smart manufacturing Ecosystem)” focused on establishing an “Extended Enterprise model” where supply chain and other SMEs are deeply connected and platforms, data & “base core knowledge” is shared for a common growth.

Salome Lessman
In the technology network it’s OWL – Intelligent Technical Systems OstWestfalenLippe, more than 200 companies, research institutions and organizations develop solutions for intelligent products and production processes. Awarded in the German government’s Leading-Edge Cluster Competition, it’s OWL is considered one of the largest initiatives for Industry 4.0 in SMEs. The presentation will showcase how new technologies and applications for SMEs have been successfully developed and implemented. Since 2022, it’s OWL has set itself the goal of developing the OstWestfalenLippe region into a model region for sustainable value creation under the title ‘Industry.Zero’. This new concept will also be elaborated during the session.

Sam Turner
Professor Sam Turner is the CEO of the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC), a £98m industry led innovation centre l at Queens University Belfast. Sam brings over 15 years leadership experience in industry led manufacturing innovation centres from his time as CTO at both HVM Catapult and AMRC Sheffield. Sam’s 25+ years of experience in manufacturing innovation covers machining, manufacturing digitalisation and industrial decarbonisation.

Måns Lindberg
Working in the European Commission since 2015; Swedish nationality; Political Scientist as educational background, wide experience in European Institutions and different Commission departments of European policy making.
Since January 2022 and November 2023, he is part of the manufacturing team in the Unit for Industrial Transformation in the Prosperity Directorate, covering research and innovation priorities ranging from chemicals, design of new materials (advanced materials), manufacturing (discrete and process manufacturing) and metrology.
Željko Pazin
Željko Pazin is the Executive Director of the European Factories of the Future Research Association (EFFRA).
Prior to EFFRA, Željko Pazin worked at a technology industry association, the EU Institutions, a Chamber of Commerce and at a German University .
Sandrine Lebigre
Sandrine LEBIGRE is R&D Deputy Director at IPC, the French technical center for plastics and composites. IPC is in charge of providing the plastics and composites industry with R&D and innovation assets answering its current challenges, mainly circular economy, industry 4.0 and high-added value products. With more than 13 years of experience in R&D collaborative projects, Sandrine manages a team dealing with the definition of innovative concepts, European programmes setting-up and coordination, management of intellectual property and dissemination of project results.

Marcello Colledani
Marcello Colledani is Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department of Politecnico di Milano. He has carried out research activities at the Laboratory for Manufacturing and Productivity (LMP) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is Fellow Member of the CIRP, the International Academy for Production Engineering. He is the coordinator of the EU H2020 large scale demonstration projects FiberEUse, the I3 project DeremCO, and the HE YourBan, targeting composite recovery and re-use, the EU H2020 project DigiPrime, for the development of a digital platform for circular economy in cross-sectorial sustainable value networks, and BATTwin, for the development of a zero-defect manufacturing approach based on digital twins for the battery manufacturing process-chain, and the I3 project BatMass, for the development of a circular value-chain for EV batteries. He is WP3 leader within the Cirpass CSA project, targeting the Digital Product Passport. He has scientific responsibility of the inter-departmental laboratory “CIRC-eV: Circular Economy for Electrified Vehicles of the Future” at Polimi. He is among the funders of the European Cluster on Zero Defect Manufacturing 4ZDM (www.4zdm.eu). He was coordinating the 2020 Lombardy Region Circular Economy Roadmap. He is the coordinator of the Pilot Network on “De- and Remanufacturing” for the “ESM – Efficient and Sustainable Manufacturing” Pilot within the Vanguard Initiative. He is the coordinator of the Regional working group on “De-and remanufacturing for Circular Economy”, within AFIL, the Lombardy Region Cluster on Intelligent Factories.
